Overview
The Master of Teaching – Primary program equips future educators with the essential skills to support and guide young learners. The program provides a thorough curriculum that covers pedagogical strategies, curriculum design, and classroom management, all tailored to the needs of primary education. Graduates of the program are prepared to create engaging and nurturing learning environments that foster both academic and personal growth in primary school students. This foundation helps students develop a lifelong passion for learning and exploration.
We align this programme qualification’s to the level descriptors of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
Learning Outcomes
- Explore research-based teaching practices through modeling, simulation, and video analysis.
- Critically analyze historical and contemporary issues in primary and middle school education at both local and national levels.
- Review various pedagogical theories and academic concepts that support the diversity of learners in primary education settings.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate a variety of educational practices to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Admission Requirements
General Entry
- A related Bachelor’s degree OR
- A related Graduate Diploma at Level 8
General Entry
- 25 years old, completion of a related Level 5 qualification, and 7 years of relevant experience (of which 3.5 years of experience is obtained after completion of a Level 5 qualification), and completion of a Pre-Master’s Program. OR
- 25 years old, completion of a related Level 6 qualification, and 6 years of relevant experience (of which 3 years of experience is obtained after completion of a Level 6 qualification), and completion of a Pre-Master’s Program
