Overview
The Master of Public Administration (MPA) programme is designed to equip graduates with advanced knowledge and skills in public administration and management, ethics and governance, and public finance. Tailored for those interested in or already working in the public sector, this programme offers a comprehensive curriculum covering key topics such as contemporary public administration, organisational design and management, public financial management, social policy-making, and research methods. Students also gain expertise in critical decision-making, administration, and governance within public sector organisations.
The MPA programme consists of eight compulsory taught modules, complemented by a Final Project module, where students can choose one of two available options. This degree prepares graduates to effectively navigate public sector networks, making them capable of driving impactful change, developing sound policies, and making informed decisions in public administration.
We align this programme qualification’s to the level descriptors of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
Learning Outcomes

Admission Requirements
General Entry
- A related Bachelor‟s Degree OR
- A related Graduate Diploma at Level 8
General Entry
- 25 years old, completion of a related Level 5 qualification, and 7 years of relevant experience (of which 3.5 years of experience is obtained after completion of a Level 5 qualification), and completion of a Pre-Master‟s Program. OR
- 25 years old, completion of a related Level 6 qualification, and 6 years of relevant experience (of which 3 years of experience is obtained after completion of a Level 6 qualification), and completion of a Pre-Master‟s Program
