The Bachelor of Counseling program offers a thorough education in mental health support, combining counseling theories with ethical practices to prepare students for professional roles. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical training, graduates are equipped to become compassionate and effective counselors who foster emotional well-being and personal development across various settings. Learning Outcomes
- Critically review a range of theoretical orientations in counseling and how to apply them according to the specific need of the client;
- Exhibit practical skills in the application of a range of counseling paradigms;
- Analyze the impact of social structures upon the counselor/client relationship
- Appraise ethical issues relevant to professional practice and apply them in a professional setting
Admission Requirements
General Entry
- Successful completion of Higher Secondary Education OR
- Attainment of a Level 4 qualification in a related field OR
- Attainment of a Level 4 Foundation Study Program approved for the specific Diploma program.
General Entry
- Completion of a Level 4 qualification (unrelated), and successful completion of a University Preparation Program OR
- 20 years old, completion of secondary school, 2 years of relevant work experience, and successful completion of a University Preparation Program
